Owning a business is the best in some instances and the worst in others. At times the stress of running a business that you love includes tasks that you absolutely loathe. However, it is worth it? Yes, but can you handle it all alone? NO.
As women we try though. We know we are the judge, jury, executioner, referee, president, vice president, secretary, guru, student etc.
All those hats have created the strongest neck ever. Women are full of strength, love, wholesomeness, compassion and all the things. 😊
How come when we decide to do what is so needed for ourselves, others seem to become upset?
Well, when you are a strong woman and can handle a pretty hefty load, others depend on that strength and you always being there without let up. The second you step back to care for yourself, they get a little emotional and feel as though they no longer have you as their rock even if your absence is just for a limited time.
“Self-care means giving yourself permission to pause.” – Cecilia Tran
Sometimes you just have to put yourself first. Is that selfish? In my opinion… NO, NO, NO. Not at all. Some may even call you self-centered, but they will be just fine. “I’m fine with being selfish.”
We don’t worry about the negative statements over here at Owner & Co., we focus on mental health and its importance. Everyone will have an opinion, no matter if you take time for yourself or not. Keep that in mind.
Now that we have completed that thought, let’s focus on a way to practice self-care. There are many ways, but we will discuss one at a time. So today, let’s focus on nail care.
Yup, nail care.
It may sound simple to some, but to others it is something they neglect and are not doing it purposely. There are times when I do my own nails and times when I don’t. It depends on how I feel and where I am in the space of time for that day.
“When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.” – Jean Bolen
Getting your nails done (including your feet😊) is so important. That one simple gesture of self-care makes you feel A-mazing. At least for me. I feel so pretty. In my day-to-day activities, I can touch things and shake people’s hand and hold my Starbucks and not feel embarrassed.
The same goes for your feet, try your best to keep up with your feet as well. Our feet tend to misbehave when we neglect them for more than a month.
