Sometimes we get overwhelmed with life, and we place ourselves on “shuffle” and end up dabbling in a little of everything all at the same time. More often than not, we forget about ourselves and our needs. Self-Care is so important to put into practice to keep us operating at optimal performance.
Here is a checklist that can act as a guide to help you keep your sanity and maintain clarity internally and externally:
Morning:
- Begin your day with a few minutes of mindfulness or meditation to set a positive tone.
- Do some stretching or other form of exercise.
- Make some tea or coffee or hot beverage of your choice.
- Write 5 things you are grateful for this morning.
- Create a action plan for the day and write it down.
- Drink a glass of water to kickstart hydration and boost your metabolism.
- Fuel your body with a nutritious breakfast that will sustain you for the morning.
Midday:
- Schedule short breaks between tasks for mental refreshment.
- Keep a water bottle with you to stay hydrated.
- Have a healthy snack to keep your energy up.
- Go for a short walk to prevent stiffness.
Afternoon:
- Incorporate time-blocking to manage your schedule.
- Get outside and enjoy the day over a healthy and satisfying lunch.
- Practice mindful breathing if you are beginning to feel stress to maintain self-care.
- Take the time to voice positive affirmations to remind yourself of how great you are.
Evening:
- Leave work at work, schedule a time to stop working and disconnect…completely.
- Reflect on all your accomplishments for the day.
- Prepare a creative dish for dinner while listening to your favorite playlist.
- Limit screen time before bedtime for better sleep.
- Transition into your bedtime self-care routine.
Before Bed:
- Begin your relaxing self-care routine, i.e. bathing, skin care, quiet time.
- Journal your thoughts about today and how you were feeling. End your thought with one good thing that happened today.
- Put away all electronic devices and relax.
- Try your best to go to bed at the same time every night.
- Set a goal to get 7 hours of sleep or more nightly.
Weekly and Monthly Self-Care Practices:
- Plan occasional days off to recharge.
- Dedicate time to hobbies or activities you enjoy.
- Always try and schedule social activities with friends and family.
- Reflect on your business goals and adjust when needed.
- Set aside time for continuous learning and growth.
There you have it. I hope this gave you some idea or insight on creating a routine to practice self-care. It is so important that we as women remember that we need care too. We give to everyone, but we must also give to ourselves.
To your Self-Care,
